My 2 year old Miniature Schnauzer Sydney has torn a ligament in her leg it seems. She’s been hobbling around it on it for a few weeks now and we just got her diagnosed at the vet this evening.
I’m kinda tore up. You see, this little dog is my world and has brought me joy and satisfaction that I have not experienced other than the day I met my wife.
The vet thinks we are over-reacting a little bit, and we probably are, but as both of us came from broken homes we have a natural paternal instinct to just provide the best care we possibly can to our dogs, we don’t have children, so these are the closest thing to it.
So goes life. I guess I can follow my own advice that I often give people for once:
“Life sometimes throws you curve balls, and you have to have a mitt in order to catch it. If you don’t, it has the potential to hit you in the head”
Life can just really suck sometimes.

This photo was taken by Flickr member MumbleyJoe and it is the most amazing shot of the Golden Gate ridge I think I have ever seen!
Great work!

I downloaded the original Super Mario Bros and Mega Man, man oh man what great memories!
I remember all the great fun (and time wasted!) I had as a kid with these games, damn I feel old at 33…….

UPDATE: She’s it!!!!
According to CNBC this morning, they heard from a credible source that the Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, is Senator McCain’s pick for vice president.
That would be interesting if so. I think it would hand the Dem’s a serious blow to their campaign and attract many of the Hillary supporters.
He makes the announcement today at noon EST, time will tell.

Found this today while doing my usual kill the afternoon at work web browsing:
http://www.amahi.org/
It’s a linux based alternative to Windows Home Server and it costs $0.00, open source FTW!!!
It’s only supported on Fedora at the moment, but an Ubuntu version is in the works. I may give this a spin tonight on a spare machine and see how it works out, I’m extremely interested in it. It will be even better once they get it running on Ubuntu/Debian (I’m a Debian zealot)
I see a dedicated monster box in my future if this thing works out good.
Why hasn’t Apple built a home based server yet!!!???
